Midship Marketplace

Start your morning aboard the Queen Mary at the Midship Market Place, located on the port side of the Promenade Deck. Perfect for guests on the go, the Midship Market place offers freshly brewed Starbucks coffee, homemade pastries, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, fruit, oatmeal and much more.

 A Look Back

Located within the Long Gallery, the Midships Bar was added in the early 1960’s. Known then as the Midships Bar and Lounge, the cocktail bar was located port side in the center portion of the Long Gallery. As part of the new cocktail bar design, the painting “The Mills Circus” by Dame Laura Knight was relocated from a private dining room on R Deck to the Midships Bar rear wall. The original Midships Bar’s green curved counter featured a decorative motif of Greek keys.

This forward portion of the Long Galley has operated as a food and beverage outlet since the early 1970’s. This new space, Midship Marketplace, has been themed to honor the Midships Bar by incorporating colors and related design themes and use of the Greek key pattern both in the floor tile and in the new counter.

1930’s sophistication and style, the Observation Bar and Art Deco Lounge is the playground of the cool. Classic and chic, the Observation Bar was formerly the First-Class Lounge and served as the hub for lively discussions over delicious drinks.

Original artwork still hangs above the bar, which is lined with Art Deco tables, chairs and decor. Completing the 30’s look are distinct torchiere lamps, which give the room a soft, retro glow. So order a cocktail, sit back and enjoy this treasured downtown tradition.

While you won’t find Winston Churchill at the bar, you will get the best hand crafted cocktails in town. Choose from a bevy of classic signature drinks, beers or fine wines, or enjoy a delicious appetizer like sliders or flatbread, all while basking in the beauty of the setting sun over the Pacific Ocean.

Fancy a nightcap instead? Open late, there’s no better place to enjoy an after dinner drink than the Observation Bar. Drift a thousand miles away from reality, without ever leaving port.

Malibu Wines is a different kind of wine company. Rooted in Southern California, we love to pair unique experiences with incredible wine.

In addition to producing Semler and Saddlerock Wines, we operate five tasting rooms in the Southern California area and offer four different quarterly wine clubs.

We think producing fantastic wines are just as important as crafting unforgettable experiences around those wines and would love to have you on board for a taste!

About Malibu Wines
The history of Malibu Wines dates back to 1996 when the first grape vines were planted on Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu. Today the hillside vineyards consist of approximately 80,000 vines on 85 acres with eight varietals and are well on the way to reaching a goal of 100 acres. With the high altitude and separation from the coast, along with an ideal blend of weather conditions and rich, rocky soil, it’s the perfect environment for growing premium wine grapes.

As a joint family endeavor between the Semler Family and the DeJoria Family, we take great pride in the gentle-handling, traditional techniques that give our wines their special character.

We hope you enjoy our wines as much as we enjoy creating them!
